Handyman business software for the day that has seven jobs in it.
A door strike at nine, a vanity at eleven, a deck board and two shelves after lunch. Foldrule keeps each one as its own job with its own invoice, so the small work that pays your week does not go unbilled.
A handyman day is a lot of small days.
You are not doing one job, you are doing six or seven, in five neighborhoods, for people who found you five different ways. The prices run from ninety dollars to four thousand. The drive between them is half the day.
What kills the week is not the work, it is the two jobs you forgot to invoice and the quote you promised on Tuesday that you are writing on Sunday night.
- Six or eight jobs a day, each with a different client
- Prices from a ninety dollar repair to a four thousand dollar remodel
- Punch lists for property managers and realtors
- Half the day spent driving between addresses
The paperwork cannot be bigger than the job
A sticky door takes twenty minutes to fix. Writing it up properly takes longer: the client’s name spelled right, the address, a line for labor, a line for the two long screws that pulled the hinge back into the stud, and a total with tax. So the door waits, the paperwork happens on Sunday from memory, and the screws never make it onto anything. The only handyman business software worth having is the kind that bills a door faster than you fixed it, while the client is still testing the latch.
Price it in the driveway instead of at the kitchen table tonight.
Most handyman quotes are five lines you have written a hundred times. Pull them out of your price book on the phone, adjust the quantity, send it, and the customer approves it in the portal with a signature. The approved quote becomes the job with the lines already on it.
- Lines you reuse instead of retype
- Two options when the customer is deciding how far to go
- Signed approval in the portal, not a text saying go ahead
- Quote to job without entering anything twice
Invoice before you pull out, because later never comes.
The ninety dollar jobs are the ones that never get billed. Close the visit on the phone, send the invoice from the curb, and the customer pays by card or bank transfer in the portal through your own Stripe account. Cash and checks get recorded so your balance stays honest.
- Job sheet turns into the invoice with no retyping
- Card and bank transfer online, cash, check, Zelle, Venmo and e-Transfer by hand
- Reminders chase the ones that stay open
- Nothing sitting unbilled on Sunday night
Photos that close out a punch list.
Property managers and realtors want to see the work, not hear about it. Shoot the item before you touch it and after you fix it, tick the checklist as you go, and the client opens the job in the portal and sees what got done.
- Before and after on every item you touched
- Checklists so a fourteen item punch list stays honest
- Per photo control of what the client sees
- Captured offline in a vacant unit with no wifi
Many clients, many properties, one list.
A handyman book is wide and shallow: hundreds of people, most of them once or twice a year, some of them with eight rental units. Clients hold contacts and properties, and the tax rate sits on the property so each address bills correctly.
- One client, as many properties as they own
- Contacts kept per client, tenants included
- Tax by service address across town and county lines
- Full job and invoice history under the client
A handyman price book on the first day.
Your account starts with a price list written for general repair work: hourly and half day rates, drywall patching, door and lock work, faucet and toilet swaps, TV and shelf mounting, trim, fence and deck board repair, gutter cleaning. Edit the prices, add your own, and it is your catalog.

What handyman owners ask first.
If your question is not here, write to us and a person answers.
Is this too much software for one person?
It is priced for one person. A solo account is fifty nine dollars a month flat, every feature included, and thirty days free with no card. You are not buying a crew sized plan to get quoting and invoicing.
How fast can I invoice a hundred dollar job?
Close the visit on the phone and the lines carry into the invoice, so it is a send and a tap. The customer can pay by card in the portal before you are out of the street.
Do I need a card reader to take a card?
No. You send the invoice and the customer pays it by card or bank transfer in the portal on their own phone, through your own Stripe account.
My work is all over the place. Will a price book fit it?
The handyman price book covers the common repairs, and you add your own items for everything else. Every price is editable, and an item you add is in the catalog for the next job.
Can I keep a running list of properties for one landlord?
Yes. One client can hold many properties, each with its own address, contact and tax rate, and the job and invoice history sits under the client.
Can my clients get the paperwork in Spanish?
Yes. Quotes and invoices go out in English or Spanish, per client. You can run the app itself in English or Spanish too.
