Invoicing and payments that end up in your own account
The job writes the invoice. The customer pays by card, bank transfer, cash, check, Zelle, Venmo or e-Transfer, and every one of those lands on the same balance.
Invoice the job, or part of it
When the last visit is complete the job tells you it needs invoicing, and the invoice comes out of the job lines already filled in. Bill all of it, a percentage, a chosen set of lines, or whatever is left.
A deposit that is already paid shows as a credit row, so the customer sees what they owe now and not what they owed last month.
- Full, progress or final invoice
- The deposit applied without you asking
- Due on receipt, net 7, 15, 30, or your own
- Invoice a finished job in two taps
Sales tax by property, frozen at send
Your rates, on the property where the work happened. A draft follows the current rates as you edit it, and the moment you send, the tax lines freeze onto the document for good.
Canada works the same way, with GST, HST and PST as rates you enter and your registration number on the invoice.
- Your rates, no lookup and no guessing
- Taxable set per line where you need it
- Exempt clients print the certificate number
- A sent invoice never recalculates
Every rail, on the same balance
Card and bank transfer run through your own Stripe account, at Stripe’s published rate with nothing added by us. Foldrule never holds your money. Cash, check, Zelle, Venmo and Interac e-Transfer are recorded by hand with a reference, and they count exactly the same.
If someone pays too much, the extra becomes credit on their account instead of a phone call.
- Your Stripe account and your payouts
- No Foldrule markup on the card rate
- A receipt sent on every payment
- Payments grouped by Stripe payout to match your bank

Questions about invoices and payments
Where the money goes, and how each payment is recorded.
Where does my money go?
Into your own Stripe account, on your own payout schedule. Foldrule never holds your money and never takes a cut of a payment.
What does it cost to take a card?
Stripe’s published rate, with nothing added by Foldrule. Cash, check, Zelle, Venmo and e-Transfer cost nothing at all, because you record those yourself.
Can I bill halfway through a job?
Yes. Bill a percentage of the job total, or pick the lines that are done. A final invoice bills whatever is left and closes the job out.
Do I have to use Stripe?
No. Without it there is no pay button, and the invoice shows your own payment instructions instead. You record what comes in and the balance updates the same way.
What happens to an overpayment?
It becomes credit on the client, with a ledger entry showing where it came from. That credit applies to the next invoice you create for them.
Can I fix an invoice I already sent?
If nothing has been paid on it, you void it with a reason and reissue a corrected one. The two are linked both ways, so the history still makes sense a year later.
